Was wondering if anyone had a good ai preset going for a 40g breeder. Been using David Saxby's presets but havent really seen any growth other than my birds nest that tripled in size. My montipora bleaches unless on the bottom of the tank and favias seem to grow literally not at all. Ran course over 6 months, overall corals all havent gotten bigger than the initial plugs aside from the birds nest.

I use the BRS profile with whites down a bit, 11” off the water. It’s on a Biocube 32, so not as much coverage needed as yours. That tank size you may want to put a 2nd Prime on it. My tank usually runs 2 of them and seems dim with 1.

Can send you file tonight if you’d like?

there is a video BRS did where they used 2 AI prime 16HD's over the 40B and showed you their schedule.

If you go by BRS then for a SPS dominate 40B you need three 16HDs. Two for softie/LPS.

I'm using Saxby on a little 15 pen tank and I like it so far. It's too early to say they are growing but they have recovered and I have a Mystic Sunset only 3" below the surface that is loving it. The others are all coloring up (all montis) and seem to be improving. Three show some mild signs of growth but nothing spectacular.

My corals didn't seem to care for the BRS schedule recommendations and there are reports of burning the LED lenses on settings over 100%. Don't know how much any of this really matters but I'm pretty confident saying one 16HD with any schedule is insufficient for montis in a 40B unless they are almost directly under the light.

Actually you don't say how many lights you have on it. My bad...
