I have two AI prime HDs I bought second hand. I have successfully connected both to my home wifi through the android MyAi app. However, the app refuses to find these lights after they are connected to my home wifi. It searches and fails everytime. Im hoping some AI Prime veterans might have some insight as to what is going on?

Thanks in advance.

It's been awhile since I set mine up. I am guessing this is what your seeing when you try to hook them up?

This is what I see. I have gone through the setup mutiple times and have confirmed through my wireless router that they are indeed connected to my wireless network... so I'm at a loss.

Is your phone on the same network as the primes?
I have a 2G and a 5G network along with extenders.
I had to make sure my phone was on the same network.

I'm not sure if this helps, I will keep digging.

Thank you'll I'll read through this some more.

There is a reset button you can hold to reset them. Im not home right now and forget where its at, possilby on bottom at the back, have you tried that?

Yeah, I've done this mutiple times

Primes are on the five and my phone is on 2... I'll try that.

I think this might be your issue, because I don't believe AI Prime's have a 5Ghz radio. I'm not absolutely certain, but I'm about 95% sure they only operate on 2.4Ghz. At one point, I was trying to troubleshoot interference and briefly tried to disable 2.4Ghz at my home and operate strictly on 5Ghz, but AI Prime couldn't see the network.

That's what the problem is.
You were trying to connect with the wrong network.

Yeah the primes cannot detect my new 5ghz wireless network only 2.4. Just realized that as well.

Confirmed my phone is on the same network now. 2.4 ghz and I am getting the same drama. I feel like nothing ever works properly.

Being in IT support for a few years, this is something we call "PEBKAC".

Turn everything off, reset the hydras and give it another go. Follow the instructions as they're written.

Hahaha, I don't doubt it. I'll give that a go. Thank you.

No problem [emoji16]. As previously mentioned make sure they're both using the same wireless network. It's easy to mess it up in that regard if one is 2.4 and the other is 5 because they're usually named the same thing or similar names.

Let us know how it goes or if you're still having trouble!

After following directions to a T, progress has regressed. The app will no longer verify my password nor connect my lights to wifi. I have two networks, one that is 2.4 ghz and one that is 5. I have restarted lights, my phone, and router multiple times with no success. I'm starting to think something is wrong... I may try and connect it through the computer. ;Dead

Dang! That's cruddy.

Well, it doesn't sound like it's an issue with your setup anymore....so I don't think it's PEBKAC! lol.

What I would do is contact AI (preferrably by phone - email would take eons). Run them through the list of things you have tried...including following the instructions to a tee.

If I had to guess, at this point, I'd say it's something with the app not resetting or the light not functioning properly with the app.

But at any rate, AI is better equipped at this point to handle whatever it may be. I'm comfortable saying it's no longer user error :)

Thanks. I tried setting it up through a computer as well, and it connects to wifi, however, the page does not refresh itself. When I refresh it, "this site can't be reached" comes up. Very frustrating. I'll try a call.

Yeah that just reinforces my thought that it's AI related. With the computer, it might be what's called WiFi direct...meaning you might have to physically disconnect from the AI after u connect it and connect back to your home network. I could be off here, but still
