When you turn on Acclimation mode is there anything else I should be doing other then setting a start date and finish date???

Nope that's it automatically dims and increases the schedule up to full intensity over the time period specified

Okay cuz I just added my first coral. When I went into acclimation mode it says all the colors will be reduced by 50%. Does that sound right?

I just set mine by eye (with low UV/green/red). Maybe have peak values for 6-8 hours. Then I take the par meter and check it. if you don't have one a $20 lux meter from amazon can put you in the neighborhood also (figure lux/60 = par. Not exact).

Converting lux to par with led lighting is useless imo. Spectral peaking and point source lighting skews general illuminance and the multitude of diodes targeting specific wavelengths makes it difficult if not impossible to create an accurate coefficient for conversion. Lux meters also tend to stink at gauging sub 500nm intensity and often have an error in excess of 250%. Finally, there is no reason to reduce the UV diode. On average your typical 250 watt mh bulb produces many orders of magnitude (greater then 10x) more sub 420nm light then the single "uv" diode on the prime lights.

Estimate is better than nothing.

Coral are loving the Orcus setting- I like a little more cool white does that throw anything off if I increase a little?

You can upload my 24" AWL profile it has about 30% more white then the 12" profile. Just take it very slow and acclimate your corals over a few months. The white channels on these lights are very powerful and will burn up corals in a few days if not acclimated properly :)

Hey guys. I was running my ai prime for like 2 days now with the sps ab+ 12” and I have just set it on acclimation. All my corals have been from tanks with xr15 g4 pros at 100% or kessil a360 for 100% and are a week or 2 off that tank Should I be fine with a 10day acclimation?

I'm running 2 on my 30 and never acclimate..should be fine. Would def start at a lower white percentage

Yup! You probably done even need to acclimate based on the amount of LED light the corals have been hit with recently. But 10 days never hurts :)

Hi, just saw this thread and i have the ai prime hd over my jbj 28 intermediate nano. My old jbj lights i believe were 30,000 lux right on top of the water and for the first 3 mo were great but then when the summer temp went up, leds started melting or bleaching a couple zs and ps thus the switch to the prime hd and without canopy, my temp is stable at 78-79.

Unsure what settings to use (downloaded 2 of them, non hd and sps+ab low) for my softies and lps (no sps) with mount 9 in above water and frags 10-12in below water. Initially watched youtube and i used this 35 uv, 65vio, 75royal, 75blue, 0 on green and red, 30white. Acclimation mode at 20% over a month period, realized yesterday it shouldve been at 80% (so i got that reversed).

Anyway, i noticed in the past 2 weeks when i 1st installed those settings above w the 20% acclimation, a few of my zoas did contradicting signs, devils armor stalks and skirts got skinnier and longer (sign of low light) and yet it was pooping zooxanthellate (too much light). A couple of my hornets and fire and ice look a little like umbrellas w the mouth raise and pronounced and the skirts lower than face of the zoa (too much light?)

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I wish i had come to the forums earlier, especially when i realized i had my acclimation mode reversed.

So here is the AI setting thats used on my nano, and that one of my LFS has adopted and modified for their tanks because the loved it so much. I started to make it with the owner of the shop to have something that was on awhile, for the showroom, but was only at its peak for about 4 hours. We tried to mimic the effect of clouds passing by so that way, when it was peaked, it wasnt a non stop blast of light, but instead increased and decreased often. I am willing to answer more question if necessary.
Attached is the one for the shop, at home I reduced everything by 50%, and acclimated for three weeks. It is a day a night difference compared to what I was running before. Ever since changing my corals are not just growing with better color, but are absolutely thriving. I noticed a difference in just a few days.

Thx, do u have a downloadable file of ur settings? I was able to get the other settings in this thread which went straight to the app.
