Anyone know the comparisons between the 2 lights please such as recommended tank size and so on xx

Depends on how high you are looking to mount the lights. Three feet or more above a tank, Kessil, below that, both can fry corals. AI prime for the WiFi and controllability, even from a phone or PC. It really depends on the build, inside cabinet mount or open, dimensions of a tank.... If you provide details I think people can assist better. A wide open question as what you posed will just get people to say I love what I bought.

My apologies I forgot to put tank spec lol

Tank is a aquareef supposed to be a 195 but I actually think its the 275 given the measurements sent....

Approx 27" cube by all accounts.

Tank scape will be predominantly a central tower type structure with a slop heading towards front of tank. No sandbed corals as such and will mainly house zoas and mushrooms although there may be a couple small montipora frags high up the scape and a couple of lps dotted about.

Well congrats on the tank and welcome!!! That will be a nice tank. Either light will be good. If you like tech, you will like the prime. Some like the extra shimmer on of the kessel, but to be fair, all of these lights do that. Also, if you will have the light hanging from the ceiling or a mount, consider what appeals to your eye. Both have distinct looks and one may be more eye appealing than the other.

Now, how many :) If it was a rectangle, I could tell you for 275 L it would be two and you would have plenty of coverage up to a 340L. Once you go over that, you are getting close to needing three, again depending on the mount. For a 121 L it would definitely be 1 light.

Since you have a cube, I would start another thread asking how many Kessils 160s or AI Prime HDs people have over their 275 L cube. This will firm up how many.

How do you plan on mounting the lights? I have a 15" cabinet over my 65G (rectangle), so because it's so deep I needed two lights because some is lost on the walls of my cabinet. If you are mounting open, you can raise the light higher to get coverage, and that's where your new thread mentioned above will be helpful.

As mentioned I responded this way to avoid everyone telling you they love what they bought, I see it all the time... :) I hope this is helpful

I already have a prime HD on my current tank so would prefer to use that if possible lol I have it mounted on the silver fixed mounting bracket but am not worried about buying a flexi bracket or something instead.

The tank does have what looks to be a slight cabinet.pelmet on the top but I can eaily modify my bracket to adapt for that I imagine any lid will be removed and replaced with a custom acrylic and mesh hood also.

I am already trying to find ideas for scaping - have come up with a few so will need to order some acrylic rods today lol

Thinking something along these lines ( can't give credit to owners of tanks as they were from google images )

Have to admit the last one is really catching my eye at the moment x

Very cool pieces!! A square footprint let you do something very different from the rectangular tank. If you have not already, start a journal so we can follow progress!

I will start a journal when it all arrives :D Tank needs a proper good clean first as its not a new one lol xx
