Hey guys! I'm running a Prime HD over a 10 gallon of mainly softies and lps, but these are gonna be moved and it's gonna have a makeover with hopefully some intensive--light corals and sps. Unfortunately, I don't have a par measure, so does anyone have rough par measurements for the Prime HD in water?

If you go on the AI website, it gives the average par measurements over 12" and 24" deep if my memory stands correct! You can also compare the lights to other high-end LEDs.

Bump - im about to pull the trigger on a AI prime, curious to know this as well.

Id say no. its not a high light unit. An fwiw most of the listed specs are pretty dead on to what happens in a tank according to the par charts Ive seen.
keep in mind these are at 24in from the target.
Also many SPS don't need high light so thats misleading. A zoa(imo ime) likes 100+

Grown in a 14 gallon biocube, IMO nutrients are most important. Then comes flow, and who can forget STABILITY! Don't get me wrong, light is important but my SPS have colored up and grown fine under 20k Lux

Now, if I had the money would I buy a Radion? Absolutely!

I had forgotten you had one. How high over the tank is it?

I believe it's 9 inches, nutrients were the key for me when it came to growing SPS. I started dosing KNO3 in the form of Stump Remover in January and since then I've noticed an explosion in growth in color. I also stopped dosing acropower and reef fuel. I feed Reef Roids every 3 days.

Skimmer runs at night.

Let me show my set up:

lemme tell you guys; this has worked AWESOME. My chemical warfare monti has grown like half an inch in 4 weeks. My AI is 3.5 inches above the water at a slant towards sps, and I have an AquaMaxx Nemo filling up the rest of the tank.

But my sps are mounted 4 inches under water. Though, I'm not nearly running this at full power:

Wait, Stump Remover? As in, tree stump?

I have primes and radions and primes absolutely will grow sps. I have no par measurements to back my words, but have had multiple colonies grow to maturity. As someone said above, would I prefer radions? yes! And I do. But honestly primes are plug and play, no worries about scorching sps.
