Ive been using 2 primes over my 20 Long mixed reef for about 8 months and have had no problems . A few weeks ago while doing routine maintenance I got 4 or 5 drops of water on one of them, I heard the sizzle so I knew it was toast. Not a big deal, that particular one I had picked up for $80 used locally. So I order a new one and have since invested 15+ hours trying to get them updated and connected. I thought I had them until my wife sent me a video of the "child" turning off and on. I got home and tried access them using the AI app and my computer but I got an error message that it was offline. I am at a loss and am in need of some major help. Thanks

Have you tried doing a factory reset? I know it’s a little more work. Just make sure you screenshot your settings or write them down.

Did you ever get this resolved? I'm having a hard time getting my new lights paired as Parent and Child.

To answer your question, NO. I gave up after finally realizing that it was my router not the lights. As for your problem make sure they are both updated to the latest software before pairing them.

Turns out mine was the same issue. Just a weak connection (even though the router is literally 10 feet away, albeit around a corner). I bought a wifi extender, and we're in business.

That's likely because you have a saturated 2.4ghz band - not because the signal is weak.

I made a joke awhile back that before long you will have to start worrying about firmware updates for these lights to keep them working (and keep the chinese from hacking them) so I guess we're there :)

Next step is you will soon have to rent the controller software on a monthly basic or your lights will stop working.

Think with these lights a lot of the time the issue is WiFi signal too weak.
