Would 3 of these work on a 6 foot tank? Was thinking it should cause they have a 2 ft spread? Tank is I think 20 inches deep?

I would add T5s with them that'll give you the best coverage.
I have 2 primes with 2 36" T5's on my 36x20x20 and grow everything.

Been trying to keep electricity down with the led and also heat. Also bulbs have to be replaced every 6 months I heard too.

I think that would need a little more light but I have seen less lighting on a tank look good. Pick the corals wisely and you should be fine. The good thing is you can link those lights whenever you buy a new so if it isnt enough add another until you are happy.

I think 4 would be best but 3 to start from what I'm reading might be "ok" seem like a decent light and really trying to avoid the mars led

Three on a 6’ tank might be asking a lot.
I’ve got two over a 3’ and almost wish I had a third or maybe a single t5/led bar just to spread out and have less shadowing on the outer ends

FWIW, I'm running 2 26s on my 7' tank. I will be the first to admit that I definitely need at least one more light in the middle as it slightly shadows, but it gets the job done without looking too underlit while I wait for my last 26.

Try it with 3 and see how it looks. If it looks good and you're satisfied, then you're good! As William said, you can always add another[emoji1303]

Yes I think I will do this especially since people do sell used ones too and should be easy to get more lol. The single t5 might not be a bad idea either but I don't want to get to crazy with it

Yeah I see used ones all the time. Fairly easy to find.

I love the hybrid t5 system, but I dont run one myself. Like you, I'd like to get away with using the least amount of power while still having enough light. I'd rather wait and spend the $ on an extra LED light or 2 than spend the time tracking and replacing bulbs. I personally get the growth and color I want out of the 26s, so I dont really see a reason of going through the hassle of setting up another t5[emoji23]

Agreed!

Can these be utilized? They are 3 feet

You could possibly grow softies with 3 Primes.
For LPS and SPS I would run 3 HD26’s or 2 HD52’s.
