I just set up my 1st SW tank today. Its an Innovative Marine Peninsula 14g. It is running with an AI Prime light.
Right now it is on a random setting I chose after playing with it.

What should I set the light to while it cycles?

There is no need for a light during a cycle.. just flow, heat and salt water.

Yeah, I would turn it off, it just promotes early algae growth and it's not always good. There is nothing in the tank that benefits from the lights at this point.

No light or running only blue seem solid recommendations.

Thank y'all for the input! I'll go without the light

Personally, I like the light on.
A , you can play with the time and colors and most importantly intensity.
B, it’ll bloom any of the algae and diatoms that may be present(lowering silicates , no3 Po4 And ammoina ). Yes some folks say algae bad , but , if the algae and diatoms bloom , you can pull the rocks out and scrub them.
I’d rather deal with that before coral and fish.
