Hi all,

I have had a random preset that I made myself when i first got my light (and didn't know much about reefing). Used to get decent growth but I don't get a lot of growth from my corals so much now so was thinking of trying a new preset.

It's a 45cm cube with 1 Prime mounted about 25cm from the surface. Mixed reef with probably more LPS than SPS (sps up on top shelf, hammers and other LPS second shelf down).

I do find most presets too blue for my liking so I would probably bump up the whites a little. Any recommendations on presets? I was sort of taking a look at AB+ but then some people say it's too strong? There os 2 dofferent types od AB+ it seems. Would this be ok for my tank? Also with whatever i change to will 4 weeks acclimatisation be ok?

Thanks :)

Dang that is one complex light schedule. Mine is much more simpler. With blues/violets remaining at max boosted throughout the day and whites peaking at 60.

However, to answer your question, I would do increases in small increments for your tank size. Maybe 10% on each channel you want to increase every week. It’s much easier with powerful lights like the AI, Kessil, or Radion to melt your corals rather than brown them out.

Personally I blast my lights. At peak noon these are my settings:

UV - 118
Violet - 118
Royal Blue - 140
Blue - 116
Green - 10
Red - 30
Cool White - 60

And at night:

UV - 118
Violet - 118
Royal Blue - 140
Blue - 116
Green - 209 (not a typo)
Red - 10
Cool White - 0

But then again my tank is a 180 gallon currently running with 2 26 HDs only. I plan to get a third and be done. I get good growth on corals and my corals have yet to bleach on me (even low light softies and LPS).

For you I would not recommend blasting the lights like I do.

Haha yep need something more simple. I may try running the AB+ at half the intensity and then slowly increase a few % every few days and see how they go unless someone else has another suggestion. Thanks for your response :)
