What all are you reefers running your ai prime schedules on for lps and softies mainly, I’ve just switched to Karen’s signature series hoping I get the same results. Biocube 32 gallon with ai prime 16hd

It’s very high and very long and caused a lot of algae. I’d recommend lowering it because it’s really for SPS corals.

I’m not good at tweaking them signature schedules ‍ what do you recommend out of them? I used to run saxby several years ago on my 180g mixed reef

If you have Facebook go to AI prime/hydra reef page. I downloaded about 20 presets and went from there. Currently using the 10 hour deadlight setting. I may change it up to the 12 hour version. I’m not sure yet. Currently have softies (zoas, leathers, mushrooms, cloves) I’ll add lps in the next week or two (candy canes and duncans)

I run a 7 gallon LPS/SOFTIES tank under tfollowing settings. Its a small 12inch x 12inch Cube with an AI Prime HD mounted 9 inches above the surface. I have good growth with no algae issues under this spectrum.

For some reason unknown to me, Acans and Mushrooms do very well in my tank. My riccordeas grow to about 7inches in diameter and I have to trade in Acans after 5 months in this tank because they get too big for the limited space.

I hope this helps. Trying to dial in lights can be stressful at times when you don't know where to start.

I run BRS AB+ on my zoanthid tank. The AB+ spectrum was studied by Coral Lab and BRS converted that spectrum to the prime. It's arguably one of the best spectrums for coral growth and coloration.

You actually commented on a thread of mine a few minutes ago about AB+ on a 10 gallon. But here is the spectrum. It's different depending on the size of tank and if you're keeping lps/softies or sps. On my 10 gallon with only zoanthids, I run the 25% setting. The 25% would give you perfect par for lps/softies because the tank used in their video was a 7.5 gallon cube and they already measured the par for it.

Hi Josh1591, my question might be a bit off topic since I do not own a AI light, but I read you only have zoas. This is exactly what I'm planning to do, zoa's only . My tank is completely cycled, it did a 4 months lights off cycle. Last friday I added 2 wrasses (cirrhilabrus solorensis), 2 ocellaris clownfish and about 10 snails (trochus, nassarius and cerith). The tank is 66 gallon display and +- 13 gallon AIO filter.

The LED is from Aqua Medic, its controller is called Aquarius. This has 6 channels:
1. white + blue
2. royal blue
3. blue
4. red
5. purple
6. UV

I've started with 30% intensity for channels: royal blue, blue, purple and UV. The channel white + blue is at 10%. Red is at 0%. I'm planning to increase 5% each week, and keep the 1/3 ratio (1 white, 3 blue).

Is this a good setting? Your advice is much appreciated.

Hi Mattie_07. I am unfamiliar with aqua medic lights though you could try to replicate the spectrum, I'm not sure what the par values would be. There are apps you can use to measure par on your phone (I've heard of people putting their phone in a plastic bag and checking it that way). I went with the ai prime because BRS took the guesswork out of it and measured par values for similar tanks.
