AI Primes (difference in “same” colors between units)

This is “Blue” within the AI prime settings, the lights are wildly off. Ones teal and the others a true blue. How do you never hear of this from AI users?

App interface is awful for general use too.

That is really strange. Are they new? I have 2 hydra 26's that I have had no issues with. The app does take some getting used to, I found its easier to use on a large tablet.

I just replaced a light, not AI, and there is a difference I'm not keen on. I feel your pain. Not sure if it's lense problems or what.. problem is I like the newer one better lol.

They’re new, I am being sent a new one (Amazon) and I will just have to match whichever is closer. Apparently they allow up to a 7% difference in shade from doing some searching on here. Hoping the replacement is teal like the other but I’m more sure one of the other colors will be off too knowing my luck so far.

That’s crazy, from the pics I would say that’s way more that 7%. Fingers crossed. I’ve always had good luck with my ai products.

Weird. I have 2x AI Prime 16 HD LEDs and they both look exactly the same -- both were bought new at the same time.

That is a crazy difference from the same light. I would not expect this from a mainstream light. Thanks for sharing.

I run AI Hydra's and am pretty impressed with how precisely they color match.

Something is definitely amiss.

I run 5 16 hd's.
They all look the same.
The app is actually simple to use, imo.
Maybe you just got a bad one.
Nano 2 16hd and frag system 3.

Right looks Royal blue, left looks blue when seen at lower brilliance..
You would either need green firing (or in the wrong place) or some cyans snuck into the pick and place machine to have teal.
Anyways it's bad...

Pics are hard to judge color with.

I was going to comment on that same thing. It is like AI drew a line down the middle. Kudos on the consistent spread, just not so much on the spectrum.

Contact AI which is also Ecotech support and send them these pics. Obviouly a parent/child balance issue and may be burnt diodes

Actually, I saw a thread a week or so back where they guy had two AI Prime 16HD lights that had different colored LEDs, and when AI sent him a third one to replace whichever one was different it was actually a different color from the other two. Last I heard he was waiting on a fourth to hopefully get a matching pair...

I run 3 units (the 16hd) on my tank and all colors looked the same. When one went bad, I ordered a new one and I can see a color difference compared to the other two when they are ramping up and down, but not when they are on at my highest settings for the day.

AI responded back saying that they need clearer photos and color differences are most notable during dim lighting and ramp ups.. come on man lol

Did they ever get this resolved for you? I have older 4 16hd reef's and a brand new Hydra 32 and the Hydra is a different color like yours. All four 16's are the same color. I run them on top of a Nuvo 80, Hydra in the middle and two 16's on each side in a hybrid T5. I doesn't look horrible, but I'd like them to be all the same color.

I know what the issue is.. maybe.. I had the same problem. The fix was that mobius and AI apps aren’t talking and one fixture was controlled by ai app and one was controlled by mobius. Simply go back to AI app and reload schedule and should use the current one. If not just reload the one you want. Hope that helps
