Hi All,
So one of the pucks on my Vega stop illuminating. I sent it into AI for service.. Now I'm being told the driver for the puck is bad and they fo not produce that part any longer. They have other parts for the Vega but not that part anymore. They want to sell me a Hydra 26 with my Vega trade in at a discount. The problem is I have a 225 gal tank. I have 5 Vegas across the top. The tech stated that tge Hydra 26 woukd not be able tp be controlled with the Vega controller. He also stated that this light is comparable to the Vega. The Vega is 95 watts and the Hydra is 90 watts. I'm concerned with par reaching the same areas as the Vega. My thought was to try and find a used Vega out there and use it to replace the part or just use it instead of... What are your thoughts. I could use some advice.
Thank you

I have a vega that is sitting in my cubbard. It was a sol originally that was upgraded to a Vega (the only sol parts are the heat sink and fan). I think that this would work well for you. It works great, I just haven't gotten around to selling it. I could sell it for $175 shipped. PM me

Are you saying you have a SOL Vega light for sale? If so, let me know. If it is white, I am interested.

I upgraded my AI Vega to AI Hydra and still have the old driver and pucks if anyone is stuck for Vega parts. I do not have the whole Vega though, because housing and power was used by the new upgrades and not replaced.

Hydra 26HD is significantly brighter than vega. Vega actually is only about 75w.
I have both.
