So I knew I was running a little low but didn't see it like this before I read out tonight at 1.20 and should have been around 1.023 or 4 I'm trying to figure out what could be dropping my salinity. I noticed between the 3 compartments the middle refugium doesn't get much of any flow seemingly could that be it? I blame hat because I'm wondering if the middle being low flow borderline stagnant due to sand blocking the little tick-ant openings between each compartment and that could be causing the return chamber with the ATO to go off more frequently adding fresh water... Thats my hunch but what else could it be?

Lack of flow wouldn't effect salinity. How big of a tank are we talking? The reason why I ask is the only way salinity can drop in your situation you either have a leak or you're skimmer is removing enough salt water that you're displacing it with rodi water.

A leak would be obvious, and if it's a small enough tank, the skimmer explanation would fit.

Some other ideas is your latest water change salinity was off. Or your refractometer isn't reading accurately.

80 gallons front and back

my skimmer was braking it and freaking out I probably actually lost 4-5 gallons in the process and shut it down after the 5th day
Never even thought of that as a possibility
