Hello,

Just got a liverock with a carpet anemone on it and Ive noticed smaller anemone looking things, hoping they arent Aipista. If it is what should I do? Its only been in display for 10 minutes.

Thanks!:)

It's safe but IME, messing with aptasia in the tank can cause a possible outbreak. Sometimes you have no choice but if the rock can be removed I'd 0refer doing it outside the tank.

Alright, how long is the treatment for?

Since it's just one, I would take a flat head or something sharp and scrape it off. Leave no tissue behind then rinse in a bucket of saltwater.

IME there is never “just one” aiptasia. Maybe only one visible to your eye. But they start out microscopic, and can be deep in the crevices of your live rock.

Having aiptasia is not the end of the world. There are solutions, and it is generally manageable. But I really wish, two years ago when I was starting out, that I didn’t put a small rock with a RFA in my tank from a system with known aiptasia.

Your desire to keep this nem should be balanced by your level of acceptance of aiptasia in your tank.
