I have aiptaisa starting to pop up all over again i cant use bergiah due to the fact my wrasses will eat them .... i had a file fish that did a okay job other then the fact he ate a ton of my high end corals so i got rid of him .
Tried copperbands but they just dont last and when they do they tend to eat acans.
I have tried peppermint shrimp multipule times and catch them destroying my euphelia at night . Will never try them again even though they did eat the aiptaisa

Any other options

What kind of wrasses do you have? IME flashers and fairies are ok as long as the berghia are released in the rock.

Peppermints work but once they eat all the aiptasia - like you said - they turn to corals. Mine are eating my zoas. Trying like a mad man to get them out. I’ll gladly sacrifice a few corals to get rid of the aiptasia. But those shrimps need to get out of the display ASAP.

There are a lot of reasonable options including natural solutions, DIY, and various additives that have had varying levels of success. I encourage you to try F-Aiptasia Killer from @Frank's Tanks. Good luck!

IMO berghia would be your best bet if you can. Injecting anything into an aptasia has the potential of making them spread to a point where your not eradicating them but maintaining them. Good luck, they are a persistent horrible pest.

Have you tried bergiah? I have a Christmas wrasse, and he is asleep when they come out to hunt aiptasia. He probably picks off the odd one during the day, but if you buy the proper ammount and get a breeding population going... idk depends how efficent your wrasses are I guess.

I tried maintaining them. I had one grow quite significantly over a few months. I fed frozen to the tank and it ate a huge chunk. It swelled up double its size and I could see the food through its belly. Out of frustration, I lemon juiced it and it immediately died. Only 2 days later, 5 new ones or so. I agree that I’d try a Berghia. Even if a wrasse may eat it.

Kalk paste has always done the trick for me. I turn off flow, suck some paste into a syrenge and entomb the aptasia. You let it sit for about 5 minutes and it will turn into a gel/solid. After that you can start the flow back up. I've never had one come back after doing this. If you've got a bad infestation it may take you a while so you don't have an all spike but worth it.

That’s great - I am truly glad it worked for you! Unfortunately I have not had the same experience when using kalk paste.

I'm currently using berghia with a fairy wrasse and it appears to be successful. I added the berghia 3 weeks ago and noticed this week that aptasia is starting to disappear. It's takes about a month to see any change. Aptasia X and F aptasia caused an explosion of aptasia for me.

I’ve never used F aiptasia but people swear by it. If used correctly, it smothers it not allowing it to release spores into the water. I’m trying to set up a meeting with with Philip from F aiptasia next month to try to get his product into Hong Kong.

Berghia are a great option if they don’t get eaten before they can complete their job and then you have a plan for them after they have taken care of the Aiptasia. I can only take your comment at face value, but it is hard for me to imagine that F-Aiptasia Killer was less than successful.

I agree I have been using f Aiptasia and they still seem to spread so now I got more then the couple I had.

I hate that you had the experience that you mentioned. F-Aiptasia is a contact product. I’ve not had anyone else say they experienced the same as what you’ve described. Not only a contact product but it’s important that you stir it, Shake it and then completely cover the anemone in order to stop it from sending off reproductive spores. If you do these things, I GUARANTEE that you will NOT have recurring Aiptasia! 100%!!!

Bergiah do seem to be best fix i have yellow corris melenaras six line 8 line pair of leopards a few flashers so they will most likely get eaten

Those of you who have used F aiptaisa do they seem to reproduce? Does it seem to work well?

Not like I making it up. If I was at home I would show u where the hard white dryed up f Aiptasia is and then a tiny Aiptasia few inches aways that wasn't there before. But maybe I didn't use it right. I had to stir It up with the stick it came with cuz it was hard as a rock. But not knocking the product.no different between the F an X to me
