Aiptaisia?

Hi!

A couple of days ago I bought some coral from a local fish store. They have been closed up for the last couple of days, but are just starting to open up. However, on one of the pieces, there is somthing that looks like a small anemone. I think it is Aiptaisa, but I'm not entirely sure. What do you think, is it aiptaisia?

Although a little diff looking it def looks like aiptasia to me or something very similar

could try feeding it to see it’s reaction

Take a closer look. There is a big aptasia in the center of the photo.

It an aptasia and simply using a syringe, inject either lemon juice or better yet kalkwasser powder mixed into a thin paste the consistency of toothpaste and inject into the center core of the aptasia and watch it melt

Thank you for the replies! I quess it really is aiptasia then. I noticed on the underside that there are two more similar, but smaller aiptasia. I think I'll just throw away the coral, don't want these nasty things in the tank!

Why not try to kill it first. Seems pretty easy to get too. The smaller ones can be glued down with superglue gel inject aiptasia X or like was stated above lemon juice or kalkwasser.

Plus one to the kalk. I wouldn't throw the coral out. Aiptasia is all over the place and you'll have them again. Just melt them when you see them.

Looks Aiptasia....I honestly have done nothing with them over 2 years on first one seen. I have 3 or 4. And the biggest seems to have died.... The more you screw with em from what I have heard the easier the spread...
