Want to seal an aiptasia or two back into the live rock. Can I use instant ocean holdfast to do that with out removing the rock from the tank/water?

You can or superglue. Epoxy will cause your skimmer to act up for a day or so.

Yeah you can. BRS suggests covering it with kalkpaste and quickly covering it with epoxy. Seems to work but once it gets out of hand it isn't effective. Be quick before the aiptasia pops and spreads.

If these aiptasia are the first ones you’ve seen in your tank, I would remove the rock if you can. I’ve tried the superglue putty method and it didn’t stop the eventual invasion.

I did kalk/vinegar paste followed by epoxy but the aiptasia always seem to either release a spore or pop out a small crack the epoxy didn't fill. Then I did the past quickly followed by supeglue which seems to do the trick. I think it's because the superglue dries in seconds underwater encapsulating aiptasia so it can't move. Might release spores (don't know) but with water flow off and a big blop of supeglue they probably have been encapsulated too. All I know is I did the 3 I saw in my tank and haven't seen any since and I look every day.
