Aiptasia and Tank Transfer advice

So I have a 25 gallon tank I got a couple weeks back (pre established) and I have my tiny 10 gallon tank. So I have aiptasia in my new 25 and want to get rid of it and am planning on moving my two clowns into the new tank. Could I remove the rocks with aiptasia and put the rocks from my 10 gallon in there for the biofilter. The new tank will have no fish in it as I'm selling the last one to my friend.

Problem with aiptasia is they can be everywhere in the sandbed, on the glass, in the overflow, etc. If you remove the rocks you may not remove all of them but there is a chance it could work for you if it is early enough. If not and you're just starting the tank you could always drain and clean the tank and start fresh and avoid them all together or manage them with peppermint shrimp, berghia, aiptasia eating filefish, etc. Keep in my to keep them out I would always quarantine new coral/inverts and remove them from plugs as needed or you will eventually get them again.

Yeah peppermints can be hit or miss for aiptasia unfortunately.

I see no issue moving the rocks as long as you have enough to act as a filter. If those rocks are newer then you likely will go through a cycle and may have an ammonia spike. This will also depend on your fish load...

The rocks have been in the 10 gallon tank for 5 ish months I can also transfer the bio media from the old filter to the new.

Also the fish load was three clowns in the 25 gallon and only two small ones in the 10 gallon I can leave some rocks in and fight the aiptasia on one
