aiptasia are the devil!

Throw the red sea aiptasia breeding juice in the trash and get your self a bottle of franks F aiptasia. And go F*** them up!
Ya, if you only have a few you can use the RS stuff with some epoxy to entomb them after injection so the dont blast babies everywhere but the F Aptasia works well. If you have Kalk you can make a paste with that an jamb it down their throats too. Thats what I use in my frag tank.

**UPDATE** I decided to order 5 peppermint shrimp, which arrived 2 days ago. Between my original post and the arrival of the shrimp the number of aiptasia blew up even worse. I counted a total of 56, and I'm sure i missed some. However, as if this morning i can't find even one aiptasia in my tank. The peppermint shrimp saved the day.
Where’d you order them from? There seems to be some imposters for sale that don’t touch aiptasia so good to know where you can get true Peppermint’s that do the job.

Nice! I had great luck with a small army too. 3 peppermints and an aiptasia eating file fish. Had to rehome the filefish after they were all gone as he started to go after my rock flower and acans lol

Order from Saltwater fish.com

I had a 55G completely out of control with aptasia, seemed like a fatal case (on all the rocks, all over several frag racks like carpet). I got 2 file fish and 6 peppermint shrimp and within a couple of months it was gone as far as I could tell. Several months later though the file fish had died and the peppermint shrimp were MIA and the aptasia came back with a vengeance. It's now just as bad but I had trouble getting more peppermint shrimp and file fish the last few times I've been home (tanks in the Midwest with my family and I live in Hawaii). It can be done though with some patience.

That's awesome. But now I would remove all the shrimps.

I had 3 shrimps that took care of a few aiptasia at the beginning. They were good, docile shrimps for 5 months, then one day some internal switch flipped on, where they ate $600 worth of corals within a few days. The damage had been done once I figure out what happened and who the culprit was.
