Aiptasia Control Using Boiling Water

Hi, I have a case of aiptasia getting out of hand and just got a couple of what I believe to be true peppermint shrimp but I could only find small ones and doubt they can tackle some of the big aiptasia nems...I was considering boiling water and using a needle and syringe to inject them. I'm just concerned that the boiling water might cause some sort of leaching of chemicals from the plastic part of the syringe which would contaminate my water with chemicals. Seeing as it's only a 10 gallon, I worry about contaminants like this. Is this a real concern? I don't know what kind of plastic the syringe is made out of but it looks and feels like a standard medical syringe. I bought it from a pharmacy.

Plastic is inert and hence should not leech any unwanted chemicals. So it shouldn't be a concern. Good luck and happy reefing.
