Aiptasia Eating Filefish and Bubble Tip Anemone
I have been cleaning up a frag tank of mine and I have an aptasia problem. I previously had success with an Aiptasia Eating Filefish but traded him to another reefer once I got a fixed the problem. I got rid of him because he was eating my soft corals, euphellia mostly.
The aptasis came back, so I got a new Aiptasia Eating Filefish and shortly after placing him in the tank, I noticed my BTA receding and shrinking. So now the Filefish is in my sump. But I still have the aptasia problem including on the rock that the BTA is on. I was thinking about switching the BTA to the sump and placing the file fish in the display.
Should I have removed the BTA from the rock? What’s the best way to remove him if that’s the way it to go forward? My sump is clean except for some chaeto would I need another rock for the BTA or should I use a basket strainer.
Also how much light do I need? I have two red grow lights on my sump one par 38 red grow light over one chamber of my sump and the other a UFO LED Grow Light Full Spectrum Waterproof IP67 over the other chamber. I can replace the red par 38 with a blue par 38 bulb and possibly adding another par 38 fixture and bulb. What would be enough light for the BTA?
Any Ideas suggestion appreciated.
