Can aiptasia eating filefish handle strong flow? They looks like they aren't a strong swimmer... Or any alternative other than copperband butterfly??
Thank you

I have had both ,they both do fine in high flow. CBB did a better job on aiptasia, but both nipped at my corals. So I had to take them to my LFS. Loved the CBB the best but he started eating my CC Neptune's crown acan not cheap, file fish ate on a open brain coral

Filefish handle high flow just fine. The have something like a horn that they raise up to stabilize in the current.

I had two tanks with aiptasia. One got Burghia and the other got the filefish. The filefish worked faster, was cheaper, and I still have it. The Burghia eventually cleaned the tank before they starved to death. Now I am starting to see aiptasia again which is annoying. If it gets too bad I will move the fish.

Great fish!

Don’t mean to hijack this thread. But I’m trying to choose between Berghia and Filefish. Did your filefish go after your corals?

Did the filefish bother any coral?

I don’t think my file fish has touched the Aiptasia which is disappointing. Does fine in the current in my tank.

I have a file fish for about a year now and it never bothered my corals. It seemed to be happy enough to eat the food I throw in the tank. It did eat all the aptasia that it could get to and will keep them in check. I know if I get rid of him, the aptasia will only come back.

Great guy, very mellow and gets a long with my other fish. Flow doesn't seem to bother it either.

My filefish is in my lagoon tank which is mostly soft corals. My understanding is that they nip at fleshy LPS.
My friend has one with hammers and frogspawn. They don’t bother that either.
