Aiptasia Eating Filefish

If you've got one you've got your eye on try feeding it some sort of meaty food. See what it does. Some people don't understand that these fish need to eat 3 to 4 times a day. They eat small amounts at a time and slowly with small mouths. I'm convinced that's why they start eating stuff they shouldn't. I really want another one just nowhere to put it.
Best of luck. I'm behind you 100 percent.

Thanks! I have two auto feeders and feed 4 times a day - twice with flake, twice with pellets. I frequently toss some frozen brine and frozen mysids in and I have Reef Jerky that gets added to the coral mix once or twice a week or so.

I fed mysids today. I'll throw a cub of brine in tomorrow if he's out hovering happily.

I just realized I never posted his mug shot.

Super encouraging, thanks!

As mentioned above, I understand the risks and am prepared to move as needed.

For future responses, there are a lot better ways to word this response. I'm not offended because I have thick skin and I've been in the game long enough to understand every fish has inherent risks. Responses like these to new reefers can really ruin someone fast.
I just tell it how it is.

And try to warn folks from trying these LPS eating filefish. They are not reef safe by any meaning of the word.

Good luck though :)

There's a difference between "telling it like it is" and "telling it how you see it".

I appreciate the warning but there are better ways of saying things.

There's a difference between how you would say it and how I say it.

In your opinion there are better ways of saying it.

Thanks for your opinion.

You're correct, some people say "My opinion is fact and no one else matters" and other people say "Hey, here's my experience".

I appreciate your experience but I also understand that there are lots of knowledgeable people here that have had similar experiences to you and plenty that have had other completely different experiences.
