Aiptasia? Found on new live rock.

Can I just pluck it out? Saw that peppermint shrimp eat them also, I have a small one but the tank is new and he hasn't bothered with tidying up anything other than my watchman goby. Only had this one up and running a few days. Looks like a couple of Majano anemone in there too.

I tried peppermint shrimp with mine and it did not work aiptasia X has worked the best for me

Correct me if I’m wrong, but don’t aiptasia have longer and darker tentacles? It’s definitely a nem of some sort but maybe not an aiptasia?

There are many types of aiptasia mine have brown tentacles and I'm pretty sure yours are aiptasia

Also I do not know how to deal with Majano anemones because I have never dealt with them

So get this- my peppermint shrimp huddled up in that cave and gnawed on the aiptasia all afternoon! I can’t say with certainty that he got all of it but it sure looks like he tried! I’ll let it ride for a couple of days and see what happens.

Wow mine never did that they both just randomly died

I just brought it home Saturday because I saw the majano in there and LFS recommended it for that. He’s earning his keep. Hasn’t touched the majano yet but he is probably stuffed...
