Meet Brutus (center under the powerhead). Despite numerous attempts at eradication, I have not been able to vanquish my 3 1/2" opponent. Thankfully, he's an Atlantic aiptasia which means he's not overly prolific.

Let's see your unwanted houseguests! :)

I have a very dark big girl. I call her Black Swan. I'll try to get a pic tomorrow. Looks very different than my other aiptasia.

My filefish has removed these from the DT but I do have one gorgeous specimen in the sump-tank-refugium where he can't get to.

I never even thought about the differences from different regions. I'd love to know more.
I've had five or so that have persisted on my Gulf live rock for four years. They don't multiply like the Pacific varieties do, but they can be difficult to kill.

I guess all that makes sense since I was surprised to find that we have file fish just off of the beaches here in Florida.

I have one that I've been battling for months. Not overly big, but doesn't seem to be spreading. Aptiaisia-X just seems to feed it. Didn't realize there were less prolific varieties.

These are definitely Gulf of Mexico variants. The rock was aquacultured offshore of Tampa Bay. They've been with me from the beginning (for better or worse).

+1 until I noticed Black Swan was a different color

The Aiptasia X works (then again, so does kalk paste) if you can give them a shot right in the mouth. Follow up with a second round 5-10 days later and it's pretty much game over. The issue I've been having is that I can't get the remainders with a clean shot in the mouth.
