I need help getting rid of these guys. I’ve tried aiptasia X but found they still come back. I’ve considered peppermint shrimp but I have two triggers that will kill them. I also thought of getting a filefish or a copperband but I’m then worried about my clams, anemones and rock nems. Next I’ve considered Berghias but I’m told my triggers will eat them to. Any recommendations to help me clear my tank of aiptasia?

Can you make a small cover for the clams and nems out of egg crate to keep the file fish out? I'm working through mine with aptasia x, but if you can't get to each one and feed them directly, they will spread. I have a few in my corner flow (in the corner flow) got most of them but two are difficult to get to. The saga continues for me. But maybe the egg crate will help keep the fish out until the tank is clean.

Unless your tank is overrun just keep hitting them with aptasia x as you spot them.

Can’t do egg crate. I may have to just do aiotasia x forever. I just hate how it’s not a permanent solution. They always come back after a few weeks

I always used AptasiaX. If you miss them, try again when they come back out. You’ll get them over time. As for peppermint shrimp, they’ll get the little ones. But your trigger would make that problematic.

This will not be something you eradicate given your contingencies. This will simply be something you manage as long as you have the tank. What will end up happening is you’ll end up with a huge massive 2” wide aiptasia hidden in the dark or in a cave you can’t see that will keep your tank populated with them. Just keep killing them as they pop up. Make it a weekly task.

I'm in the same boat, have been spot shooting them with aiptasia x if they get near a coral, otherwise, i just leave them alone for now....

Yeah. Guess it will be part of my routine. Thanks

One thing about Berghias is that they incorporate the stinging cells of the Aiptasia into their upper tentacles(?) to ward off predators. They come out at night so should be safe from the triggers once they get some Aiptasia into their system.

Hmmm good to know
