Please help! We have a 120g DT and have been fighting aiptaisa for years. It was generally under control, and just a few here and there, but its getting worse and worse! They're popping up in the rockwork in between our zoas and killing them. Theres several on our pocci, and killed off a portion of it. Weve tried aiptasia X, arrow crabs, and peppermint shrimp so far- because of our large population of zoas and other fleshy corals we havent tried a filefish or other fish said to eat them yet, and are thinking of berghias... will go to a fish as last resort for fear of them nipping at the coral. Anyway. How many berghia should we get?? I can count about 20 aiptasia, so I'm guessing we have at least 50 or more. Also, anyone happen to have any mature berghias they're willing to part with for a decent price? Located in southern PA but also willing to pay shipping! Appreciate any and all help!

Hi, I’ve used Aiptasia-x and that’s worked for me but only had about 4 Aiptasia to deal with, I have found a link that may help you

I've tried all the methods and the Aiptasia Eating Filefish (Acreichthys tomentosus) keeps my aquaria completely free from Aiptasia. Plus, the fish can be bought captive bred.

Only thing that worked for me was the CBB tried the aiptasia x, filefish . The X just didn't seem to work filefish liked my LPS better than the aiptasia when I got my CBB 4yrs ago they were driving me crazy now never see any

As I stated in my original post... we didnt want to go fish route for fear of our corals!!

Any ideas of how many berghia we should go with, based on tank size and number of visible aiptasia??

The place I intend to buy from says 1 per 50 litre but the problem you may have is things eating them. Like you I tried peppermint shrimp which initially worked but then they decided they preferred snails so right now I’m still trying to catch my last peppermint before ordering.

The only way to get rid of them with definitive results are berghia nudibranchs. Their ONLY source of food is aiptasia, when the aiptasia is gone they nudi’s will die.
