Aiptasia in uncycled tank

Hello everyone.i have a new 40 breeder I set up and I used from rock from a current tank I have set up just to get the cycle going. I came home today to see one little aiptasia on the rock.
I am just curious is they will live in uncycled tank or just because I used some rock from the other tank if it sped things up. The tank has only been up for a week or so

Aiptasia will live right through that cycle. Just like a cockroach. Also, cycling is usually considered something done for fish. Persons have setup frag systems with no fish just for corals and they are fine.

Do your future tank a favor and eliminate any sign of aptasia. Make sure to do some research on how to properly remove them. One can turn into hundreds and really create a mess to deal with.

Oh ya I removed the rock.no signs of anymore. If they do I'll pull everything out

Being uncycled still which means you have no live stock either.. best thing you can do is tear down the tank and start over. There are ways to beat it over time but at your stage it’s much cheaper and easier to start over. Otherwise you’ll be 2-3 years down the road still fighting them before you lose the fight.

Fishofhex has a good video on how he beat them in one of his tanks.. it’s well worth the watch on YouTube..

regarding aiptasia, kill it

regarding the cycle, any rock with an aiptasia on it is confirmed 100% cycled. can anyone guess why
