I have a 75 gl reef tank and have been trying to eliminate this for some time with not much luck, some of them are about a inch long think they are too big for the file fish to kill off , wondering if I would be better off to remove my corals from the rock and treat it to kill it off was just wondering the proper to do this ? also once done can the rock be reused ? Thanks

Do you have a file fish in the system? Has the file fish been eating the smaller ones?

I can see where there are some areas that looks like they have been cleared out

My filefish destroyed my zoa garden. I would highly recommend berghia nudi. I purchased 3 of them .. tank is aptasia free in 2. 5 months

Yep, I second Berghia's. I picked up 5 of them for my "aptasia garden" and even though it took 2-3 weeks to see any difference at all, after about a month and a half, there were only a few left and now (about 2 months later) I can't find any at all.

My 90g looked like a carpet i had so many nuisance nems many were pretty big . my file fish wiped them all out but it took maybe 2 months. I didn't even notice the progress until 1 day i was like WOW they are all gone... 1 day later my file fish decided to swim through my MP60

If you have a wrasse don't get berghia's they would be an expensive treat.
Filefish work slowly and not always reef safe.
Best thing would be to inject them with Joe's juice or diy juice. Or take the rock out and apply kalkwasser paste to them.

Sounds good might try taking the rock out and use the kalk paste on a couple of the bad ones and adding a couple of the Berghia's to help out the filefish

Wrasse don't eat berghia, but peppermint shrimp will. The berghia taste like aiptasi, that is all they eat. They are also nocturnal so the wrasse won't even see them. I had aiptasia completely overtaking my 75 and I was afraid to add them with my melanarus wrasse. Got 8 berghia (they reproduce like crazy). Took them awhile but they completely eradicated all the aiptasia naturally. Never even saw them till they started running out of aiptasia to eat. At that point I started taking some out and trading to others and the LFS. Must have taken out more than 100. Don't know how many I missed in the socks.

The remedy is simple, easy and cheap. Buy some Joe's Juice and squirt it into each
Apraxia. Gone almost instantly.

I've used aiptasia X for years and it never eradicates it...a few weeks later more appear and I just repeat over and over

Maybe it's time to try berghia
