I was given this awesome zoa rock but it is covered in these.... can someone help me Id them? Or a way to eradicate them? I have them in a quarantine tub, not going near my tank. If I can’t save the rock, I will have to frag the zoas.
Thanks!

I thought Aptasia, but looking closer I can see extensions off of the polyps arms. Reminds me of a Xenia. I am not sure what it is.

As many I can see in the pic, it's best to frag zoa off the rock and keep them in qt cause you never know if there are more growing in them. Kill the rock by giving it a bleach bath and letting it sit dry in heat for few days.

I just got a drag with about 6 of those on it. Did you get a conclusive ID? They don't look like aptasia. If you look closely, there are fine filaments protruding from each arm that comes off the main trunk

What if you coral DIP the rock ? The aiptasia always go off for me when I give good DIP (for example "Coral DIP" by NT lab). I can't recognise and hydroids in this one. Do you notice they change them position (like Aiptasia do some times when isn't happy) ? Can't find and Aiptasia with filaments on the arms...,look like some kind of polyps but that brownish-clear/translucent... I'm not completely sure about.
You can check Anthozoa or sun polyps on google images ;)

Hey thanks for your help. No they haven't moved. I also did some googling but aptasia didn't look like my pics. I wonder if anyone else can shed any light on the subject [emoji6]

Try to take other pictures (if you can closer to them) and shot them on front. also turn on the blue light and take other one, will become easier for some members here to recognise them probably. (try to make macro image)

Sadly there is like a 200 Mohawk Palys on the rock, so if possible I would love to try my hand at removal first before having to frag. Hahaha. I can’t seem to find any pictures of what they are online yet. I could order some Coral Dip?

When you touch them, they shrink in to a teeny polyp.

Looking at the Elongata pictures, their stalks are smooth and more feathery on their arms.
Here’s a close up of the Xenia. Not my picture.

I was told it may be anthelia.
