Aiptasia Problem in 30 Gallon Tank

I have a big aiptasia infestation and need something that can eat it. I'm not willing to use a laser or any short term or hands on solutions because there are just too many. Any fish or inverts that can live in a 30 Gallon tank that can also solve my aiptasia issue?

Berghia Nudibranch are very effective but not very cheap. If your in a local reef club sometimes you can borrow an aptasia eating filefish from a local. Dustin

There have been plenty of reefers that have used peppermint shrimp for aptasia eradication. They will also eat other foods if the aptasia has been eliminated. Worse case senario you can give it to another reefer or back to your local fish store.

I would get just 1 with that size tank. Once Aptasia is gone I would remove it, since Pepp also likes to eat/nip Torch and Acan in my past experience.

I have a peppermint shrimp that did an amazing job. One thing to think about.... they will only eat the smaller ones. I would recommend using something like AptasiaX for the big ones. I did both of those things and have no more aptasia. Food for thought.... my hubby had an aptasia issue and got a peppermint shrimp. It didn’t seem too interested in aptasia so he used AptasiaX to kill them. The shrimp may be keeping them away though. They reproduce like rabbits!

Oh.... I think I’ve been lucky.... my shrimp doesn’t touch my corals. He sure likes mysis, clams, and brine!

peppermint shrimp has worked the best for me. I generally buy a few and keep them in the tank for a few months Aiptasia will go away. If it comes back I make sure to have peppermint shrimp on hand to keep them at bay.
