Just throwing this out. My 13.5g EVO tank has been experiencing increasing alkalinity without additives (going from 7.5dKh salt to 9.9dKh in tank). I've been recently attacking aiptasia pretty aggressively with Aiptasia-X. Is this not just kalk paste with other stuff in it? Would adding Aiptasia-X in a nano tank have a measurable effect on alkalinity? Thanks!

P.s. my tank corals are only a few LPS and softies, and they don't seem to be consuming ALK very fast, unlike my 10g that is packed with LPS and a clam that needs daily All-For-Reef.

Thanks, Randy. I suppose they should label it "Guaranteed, Reef-Safe...with caution". I'm not dumping mLs of this stuff in my tank, but the description of the product does state: "Excess material will decay harmlessly over time without any adverse consequences." Website also says, "Does not affect water chemistry." Some might consider alterations in their ALK levels as an adverse consequence (not me so much, but perhaps others).

Thanks again, Randy. I don't know what, if any, effect small globs of that would have on tank ALK. Probably something else causing my ALK to go up.

Cheers!
