I was using Aiptasia X on a few spots in my tank and on one spot I covered the aiptasia as well as some adjacent hair algae. The next day I noticed the hair algae was almost gone... so I covered the hair algae again with the product and this morn it looks like the algae is completely gone. I decided to try this method on a larger patch of hair algae and see what happens.

It also will knock back pulsing xenia...

Update... I've applied the Aiptasia X to what looks to be green hair algae. An area about 2" wide x 7" long... And as of Thursday evening, I've had great results. Most of the hair algae is gone. Plus the hermits have been more active in that area. Before when the algae was longer, the hermits were not very interested. I've purchased some more Aiptasia X to reapply in some areas I missed... I'll report back in a few days.

Very interesting. However, i'm not surprised. Watching the Aiptasia slowly disintegrate after applying that stuff... It seems really strong. It kinda freaks me out to be honest! If you are using it in a coral tank, I wouldn't go too crazy applying the Aiptasia X in places it doesn't need to be used. Plus, that stuff is spendy!

As of today... the hair algae where I placed the Aiptasia X in my tank is gone... it looks completely gone. So I'm trilled. Hermits are still cleaning the area a little. Would I broadcast the Aiptasia X over large areas of HA, probably not. But would use for smallish areas knowing what I know now. Apply in baby steps.

Wow this interesting! It would be great for treating small areas on corals where it has gotten a hold!

I wish I had taken a before and after photo... I was so worried about how I was going to get rid of the algae... I read comment after comment, post after post on what others were doing to clean their tank. And this happens for me... I'm so pleased.
