I just did a treatment, I had about 4 of these. Is it normal for them to shrink up into the rock after you cover them with the treatment? I just wanna make sure I did it right. I let the tentacles grad around the end of the needle like the directions said, then I squirted the treatment all over the disc and around the whole thing. Also the left over stuff thats on the rock, my melanurus wrasse keeps picking at it, this wont hurt him will it?

When I used it the anemones would shrivel up and “disappear” for a week or two. They came back eventually every time. Hope you have a better experience. Good luck!!

Thanks. I hope it does something, and I hope I didnt make anything worse. The 4 I have had been in the tank for a while now, and never seemed to reproduce, they were just getting pretty big. I was worried about them stinging or eating fish. They came from gulf live rock, and one site said they are not as bad as the ones from the pacific ocean, but I dunno. Everyone always says to get rid of them.

You can see 2 of them in the background here

they come back. if they do, you can try to cover them with a piece of reef epoxy to smother them with the aptaisia X so they don't send off cells to repopulate

It’s a war. Yes you might have won this battle but there is much more to come. If you do not want to do this manually all the time.... look into fish and inverts that are known for feeding on and minimizing the aptasia
