If you have a syringe, a slug of concentrated lemon or lime juice right into it's mouth. If no lemon or lime juice, boiling water with a turkey baster. Unfortunately it looks like it's amongst some zoas. Some might be sacrificed in the process of killing the aptasia.
Okay thanks, I dont have a syringe so I will try the hot water method. Its funny the guy at the pet store will swear until he is blue that nothing from his store contains aiptasia.
I have these to but my peppermint shrimp is eating the. Their are still a couple I was going to try the lemon juice method. I was wondering if the lemon just does anything to the water. Is their anything special I have to do after?
I just picked up some Aptasia-X online. It comes with syringes, and is completely reef safe. I used it, and the results were immediate. Would definitely recommend.
I just picked up some joes juice that came with a syringe. The guy at the pet store said not to inject it directly into the aiptasia because like Socal said, they will spread. Instead to inject it right in front of it so it thinks its food then inject directly.
I would like to try the natural way, and I really wanted to try the peppermint shrimp. However, I am cautious about how much I stick into my 8g cube because I believe I am hitting the max. I currently have:
Note of caution....with only an 8 gallon tank, my preferred method would be boiling water. Nuke a coffee cup of either salt or ro/di water and use your turkey baster to cook the little b@*#^ards.
i had a nano and did not use the lemon juice method out of concern that I'd end up with a tank of lemonade.
