Aiptasia

Don't underestimate them. I had a couple that I tried to blast with Joe's Juice, Aiptasia X, hot water, and pretty soon it was an out of control infestation. The only thing that worked for me is buying enough peppermint shrimp until you find one that'll eat the aiptasia. The first one may do it, or it may take a bunch before you find the right one, but this is the only method that has any lasting effect. Also, Berghia Nudibranches are probably the most effective solution, if you can find them, and if you can keep them alive (away from predators) long enough.

Whatever you decide to do, don't wait. The longer you wait, the worse it gets. If it were me, I wouldn't bother with topical applications, go straight to the pepps or berghia. A filefish might work too, but they're hit or miss, and if they eat your aiptasia, they're likely to eat other corals.

Peppermint shrimp has always solved my problem I got them the first time and they took them out and they grew back and got some more peppermint shrimp and did the job again !! I noticed they like to eat them while the lights are off so keep them off for a day or 2 and u should be good [emoji1303] don't throw chemicals in your tank

Filefish has worked for me fairly well. I currently have one in my sump because it developed a taste for my torch and acan. I can always move it back to the display when needed. It is a relatively easy fish to catch as well.

Peppermint shrimp will knock them out asap.

I've used Aptasia X , and can assure you that peppermint shrimps will be a more efficient option.

Berghia nudibranch (not positive on spelling)
For the win. They take a little time, but the results come with patience. They're also reef safe and nocturnal so you don't really see them doing there thing. Unless your up in the middle of the night with a flash light like I was haha.

I have one that is relatively close to a frogspawn. The frogspawn hasn't fully opened in weeks could the Aptasia be doing this?

You were lucky, i had 4 peps in my nano for 8 months, they never touched a single aip but did proceed to eat and kill my acans, black sun coral and a few other LPS.
I would never add peppermints to a tank i own ever again. I've read a lot of other people having similar problems with them.

I currently have 2 peppermint's which co-exist in a well established reef. My only pain point with the shrimp is during feeding time, when they are walking all over my corals scavenging for a bite. Looks like everyones experience may differ.
