I've never seen a small aiptasia polyp before, so I wanted to get some input before I just jump to conclusions. Looks like it to me though =\ At least this is my quarantine tank, but still...

What do you guys think?

If it *is* aiptasia, what should be my next step to make sure it doesn't progress. I have a bunch of coral in my QT tank, so I don't want to be too heavy handed if I can help it.

Haha that's what I was afraid of.....but could you be a little more specific than "zap it!" ;P
well you can use an Aiptasia zapper that you can get from ebay cheap or get the real one. Or to just simply nip that part of the crate and get done with it. I would just nip that crate part as long as it is the lonesome pest in the tank

Thanks, recommendations?
clip the grate or pull it out an scrape the nem off. Or start a sipon with 1/4 in tube set it next to it and scrpe it and suk it out. app x vinegar etc can make the nem spit babies into the tank.

Yeah I would take the grate out and scrape it off, personally. If for some reason the other mentioned methods of eradication fail, You could try peppermint shrimp. They are known to munch on aptasia.

Peppermints are also known to eat coral so if this is a frag tank, I don't think I'd put a peppermint in.

For the 10267723543897th time... Peppermints are the devil..

Scrape, clip, use Aptasia-X, nuke, just DON'T use peppermints...

Just know anything you do to it in the tank. Puts them into protect and repopulate mode spitting spores into your water column. So basically don't jab at it with a needle. Aiptasia X people swear by, but they say also it takes a few times. So that means you just irritated it 3 times to repopulate. Do what you said and remove the grating. Scrape it off. Lemon juice I hear works as well. I would use that to clean the grating after the scraping. It only takes one cell to start another one.
