Aiptasia?

Found these interesting little tentacles poking out from behind my monti cap. Can’t see the whole thing but will take a closer look when I do a water change. From the pic does this look like Aiptasia?

Try and stay ahead of it before they are everywhere

Be careful how you remove it
If you scrape it or brush it you will just spread more of them
They are resilient and multiply when you stress them

Find out which method is best for your situation and proceed accordingly

There are pastes you can inject that help
Kalk paste is occasionally used
Peppermint shrimp sometimes work

Difficult to Eradicate but better to Eliminate one Now instead of Trying kill 100+

Yes I use aptasia x to get ride of them but be careful with it! It will kill coral

I had an outbreak last year. I used peppermint to deal with mine. You can also Filefish as they love to feed on it. I prefer to use a more natural fix. Some of them may be hiding out behind rocks and with a chemical fix you can only get to the one that are visible. The shrimps and filefish can get to those hard to reach places.

reeftown.com had a sale on aptasia eating nudibranch. I have place an order with them to help my tank with a small out brake of aptasia. Filefish like to eat soft corals (from what my LFS has told me). I have a couple peppermint shrimp but want something else to use.

I think I’m going to grab some Aiptasia X since I only have 1 or 2 that I can see and get a couple peppermint shrimp for preventative measures and to get what I can’t see

No just be carful we’re you put it! I had some between Zoes and I put some aptasia x on them and it burned them

Zapped with Aiptasia X. Killed it quickly and it’s gone.
