Aiptasia??

Found a cheap frag of Acro at the LFS last weekend.

After a week in the tank, I've noticed these hitchhikers on the rock the frags were on.

I'm thinking this is Aiptasia, can anyone confirm, looks like another little one up to the right of it too.

Should I treat the Aiptasia? Or attempt to get the Acro off the rock?

I make a slurry/paste with kalkwasser powder and inject into the mouth and follow and entomb as it retracts.

Def Aiptasia. Is that glue on the rock or is that the acro? Doesn’t look like an acro if the latter.

Take the frag out quick and give it a scrape. You can brush the areas where the aiptasia were with a toothbrush. Give a good rinse in some tank water then return to tank.

I'm going to give that a try now, I've read about covering where they were with superglue?

Pretty new to corals so I won't swear by it, just what it was labeled by the LFS. I am pretty sure they are a reputable place. They seem very knowledgeable and helpful and I have been buying reptiles from them for years and they definitely got the right people in that department

Sounds like your lfs is as well if they labeled that as Acropora.

Nope, that was 100% my mix-up. May have 1 too many drinks tonight

Try to treat within the tank. If it feels threatened when you try to pull the frag out it will burst.
