Brand new tank as of August, and haven't even added coral yet. Dry rock, extensive quarantine, yet I found this... Ugh!

2nd the aptasia. Mix a kalkwasser paste an inject onto polyp.

Years ago, I used Aiptasia X and it was gone for good. Lots of other options. Definitely, eliminate before it spreads. It shouldn't be a big deal.

Thanks for the confirmations. Only thing I can think is maybe it came from some chaeto I bought from algae barn? It wouldn't have survived the copper baths that the fish have all been through. Or maybe on the shell of a snail (45+ days in a fishless tank, I would imagine I'd have seen it by then). But that's just this hobby for you I guess. Now to work...

Musta been hitchhiker on snail or maybe one slipped through on chaeto even with copper. They are like cockroaches. Hard to kill.

This worked perfectly. Applied a paste right on top and smothered it and let it sit for a minute. Then siphoned it right out of the tank. Thanks!
