A little fuzzy, but it appears to be so.
That's what I thought.A little fuzzy, but it appears to be so.
It looks like it could be some kind of coral to me.
Up to you how long you want to wait. Me personally, I nuke aiptasia immediately with aiptasia x so outbreaks don't occur. But if you want to see if the shrimp will eat it, that'd be okay too. That's what I thought.
When I received this rock, I also got a couple of wild caught florida peppermint shrimp. They haven't ventured to this part of the tank yet. How long do you think I should wait to see if they'll eat them before I kill the aiptasia myself?
Hmm. Well the aiptasia just opened up today. It's the first time I've seen them out. Think it'd be worth putting the rock closer to where the shrimp have been hiding?Up to you how long you want to wait. Me personally, I nuke aiptasia immediately with aiptasia x so outbreaks don't occur. But if you want to see if the shrimp will eat it, that'd be okay too.
Yeah, touch it gently with something. If it disappears completely it's likely aiptasia. If it shrinks then seems like it's hard in the very middle it could be something else. The part of the rock I circled in red?

I can't get the aiptasia x this moment, but I will pick it up on my way home from work tomorrow. In the meantime I will put this rock near the peppermint hideout and give them 24 hours to get the job done. Otherwise they're fired!Kill it now. It will spread.
Can really intrench itself in corals.
Pepper’s may never find it.

Going to agree on this.It looks like it could be some kind of coral to me.
Feed it some reef roids or something for coral.Well I'll be danged, it does have a skeleton. I can see it and feel it now. I must not have been aggressive enough earlier when checking.
Looks like you've been vindicated. It looks like it could be some kind of coral to me.

Should be fine, but I'd still target feed. They looked very hungry.I'm feeding Phytofeast to my sump and display daily. Think that's sufficient?
Doesn't appear to be. The blushing star nearby has shorter tentacles and green polyps, while these appear to be... brown. I just got this rock Monday though so everything is still acclimating. These were visible for the first time today.Should be fine, but I'd still target feed. They looked very hungry.
Wonder if its possibly the same coral near it?
