I think I have blown my own mind a few minutes ago and think I have been doing my test kits wrong for.... My whole reef keeping career!

Which way is the correct way for collecting water for test kits, with or without air bubble!

I believe for the "sample" water you want to remove the air bubble. However with the Red Sea pro test kits you want the air bubble in the syringe with the reagents. Hope that makes sense.

You want the air bubble in all cases; it is the volume of the air in the tip of the syringe before the fluid is drawn up into it, and the standardized syringes are demarcated from the bottom of the syringe itself, not the tip.

Happy testing! If there is such a thing...

+1

The air bubble has nothing to do with it. You still draw 5ml (or whatever value) into the syringe with the air bubble in place

In all honestly, it doesn't really matter as long as you do it THE SAME every time. You are looking for trends and consistency.
