Left field: thoughts on use of a air pump.

I know not needed or recommend for Saltwater purposes, but.

I previously (years ago) had a Bio Cube, I found the back filter chamber had very low water movement / flow. It seemed stagnate at times.

I recently set up a small 7 gallon nano tank, which I added a air pump to the back chamber (split actually with one in the heater chamber and the other in the media bag chamber). Lots of movement in the back filter chamber (it’s a AIO tank), no bubbles escaping into the front. Doesn’t seem to be hurting (or helping in a major way), just more of an experiment I wanted to see if it made any difference.

My point / question. I am stating a 20 gallon Nuvo tank (is like to do easy reef). I noticed there is a large “dead space” chamber in the lower corners of back chamber. Looks like a bad place for water to sit. I thought about sticking air line tubing down there and forcing air to aggregate the dead space. Thoughts??? Opinion? Just curious.

Thank you!

Flow and water movement is, generally, a good thing. Want to talk about bubbles. Look up Micro-nano bubble scrubbing...
