Airpump to Venturi

I guess it depends on what you are using the pump for? Return from sump to tank? Movement of water in the tank? Used in a skimmer?

Well it's been running for a week and I don't have microbubbles in the lower parts of my tank. I really want to make sure I'm getting enough oxygen into my water

That is a great objective, but mixing air with the return water from the sump to the tank is not a good way to do it. If you have a powerhead or wavemaker in the tank, point it parallel to and just under the water surface. Just having a small amount of wave action at the water surface is the very best way to oxygenate the water. Your skimmer would be the next good way.

^^^What Ron said^^^

Bubbles in the tank will cause an excessive amount of salt creep.

I place all my power heads ~ 1/3 of the way down and angled up and towards the middle of the tank. That will create plenty of surface agitation, and as an added bonus your tank will have nice, random, flow.

Ok thx all I have drained my sump so I could move it over a little and while I was there I pulled the Venturi. had a noob issue with power and water.

I think my surface adgitation is good with my return flow what do you all think?

Ouch, that could have been painful, dangerous or even deadly. Yikes!

I don't think you'll have any issues at all with having enough oxygen in your water with surface agitation like that!!! ;Wideyed;Wideyed;Wideyed;)

Yeah it happen and I flipped the power bar off 1 handed and had my daughter pull the plug from the wall.

I'm working on a reef-pi once that's done or operational I will be planning actual power routing
