I have a Mag drive 12 with a Venturi. I have attached an Airpump to this intake but wonder if that's appropriate.

Well it's been running for a week and I don't have microbubbles in the lower parts of my tank. I really want to make sure I'm getting enough oxygen into my water
That is a great objective, but mixing air with the return water from the sump to the tank is not a good way to do it. If you have a powerhead or wavemaker in the tank, point it parallel to and just under the water surface. Just having a small amount of wave action at the water surface is the very best way to oxygenate the water. Your skimmer would be the next good way.

Ok thx all I have drained my sump so I could move it over a little and while I was there I pulled the Venturi. had a noob issue with power and water.![]()
Ouch, that could have been painful, dangerous or even deadly. Yikes!
