I have 155 gallons in a red sea reefer after taking out for rocks. I am dosing Bionic.
My alk is 8.6. Calcium 420. Mag 1340- Use Trident, Salifert & Aqua Forest kits. All seem the same. Hanna alk test
Mostly sps tank.

I am dosing 45ml alk 24/7. I am dosing 58 ml calcium 24/7
Also dosing 3ml acropower per day.
Corals look great but dosing not equal. I don't want to increase my alk. i don't want to lower my calcium.
This is not balanced.

Any thoughts as to what I should do?

YES!
if all it’s OK don’t change your behavior. You’re doing fine...

I am now getting cyano Again. My sand is like cement in spots. Does that mean it is nutrient loaded causing issues.

Phosphates are .1 Nitrates 5. Chaeto wont grow no matter what i try. I am getting frustrated.

I am reading that I should dose nitrates. Will that eliminate what is forming in my tank. Or should I do chemiclean?

If nitrate is 5 ppm, I see no reason to dose more.

Sand hardening has little or nothing to do with nutrients, IMO. It has typically to do with high alk, pH, and new sand.

alk 8.4-8.6

PH 7.99-8.2

Not new Sand 1 1/2 years old

Maybe it hardened when it was new. That is when it is most likely to happen.

Anyway, to reduce future hardening, low pH and alk, high organics and phosphate and magnesium may all help.
