After 10 years of not having a saltwater tank I have come back to the hobby. I was just going to sell my 48"x24"x24" tank, stand, and canopy as it was just sitting in the basement for the last 3 years. I only kept African cichlids in that tank and when we got our house it was neglected in the basement since I was only seeing it when I was on my computer. The wife and I talked about having a saltwater tank again but I said it has to be in the living room or somewhere in the house that it is always visible. One day I just happened to think if we removed the wedge from our sectional my 120gallon tank might fit there. After that it was all over and I started the build. I opted for putting my sump in the basement so I could have more room for a refuge tank, equipment, and better temperature control.

Main display
120 gallon 48"x24"x24"
2 x 1" holes drilled into the back side of the display feeding into a 2" main drain line.
1.5" return line.
1 Vortech MP40 for circulation
Lighting 2 AI Vegas with controller mounted to the canopy.
~130lbs of Marco rock + 40lbs of cured live rock.

Basement
120 gallon 60"x24"x20" polyethylene sump.
The return pump is a Reeflo Hammerhead/Barracuda pump with the barracuda impeller installed. I am pushing about 14-19 feet of head pressure.
The return pump also feeds the refuge tank.
~50lbs of rock is also located in the sump tank

60gallon 48"x24"x12" refuge tank with 2x65 watt PC lighting.
~30lbs of rock is in the refuge tank

Heating
Pinpoint controller with 500watt heating element.

Skimmer is a Diablo 250 XS

Water storage system
2 X 100 gallon poly storage tanks
1 tank is saltwater
1 tank is fresh water
Both tanks are plumbed to a single mag drive 12 to recirculation and pump out to the main sump.
100Gpd RO unit

System totals out around 240 gallons.

Here are some updated pitures of the tank. Everything is doing well and I have been very happy with the progress of the tank. The water parameters have been stable and I have been doing 10-15% water changes every couple of weeks. I just saw one of my tank rased my Bangi cardinals today is holding. I will have to make another post of the refuge tank since I have added several varieties of macro algae to that tank.

Thanks. I tried to make the best setup I could for this house. Since the wife and I like a lot of unsafe reef fish in our next house we are going to to a duel tanks tied into a single system so we can have both the reef and the FO tank.

Wow, I Love your Setup!! Thats a Great Idea!! Looks Awsome and I hope we see more Updates in the Future!!

I just picked up a wall hammer. Beautiful!

Just some updated photos. I have picked up several new corals from cherry corals. They have all been doing well and I am very happy with my purchase.
