Alex's Mixed Reef from Singapore

First off absolutely amazing tank! I will be following your thread. I was wondering what food you are feeding your fish and also the corals?

Another thing, what is your water change schedule?

What is the secret to have this amazing of a tank!? lol

Thanks for the kind words!

Currently I am using aquarium Munster's pellets and flakes. Generally I will use their excel flakes and garlic pellets. I also feed my tangs seaweed from two little fishes. Hikari mysis probably makes up e bulk of the fish food. E corals probably take some of the flakes too. When I have e time, I will target feed some of the lps like super Suns, acans, scoly. But generally I broadcast feed reef roofs thrice a week.

I don't practice big water change. Doing weekly 3-5% only. Just switched to aquaforest. Hopefully it's gonna help colour up my corals more!

To be honest, I am more than flattered by your words :) doubt I have any hidden secrets to my tank's health. Haha but one time I can definitely say that helps is, commitment!

aquaforest? Well whatever you are doing is working perfect lol

how are you keeping nitrates and ammonia so low and steady? This is my biggest problem!

Ammonia shouldn't be a problem once ur tank is properly cycled if u load livestocks patiently.
The problem should be keeping nitrates low. For me I use a sulphur reactor. Dose biodigest n bioptim weekly. There are many ways which reefers use to lower nitrates. Ranging from regular water change, zeovit system, bio pellets, algae scrubber to keeping macro algae like cheato or even keeping many clams.

From first post I see that you dosed FM for corals (blue, green, red), do you still use them? or you fully changed it to Aquaforest?
Maybe you can tell more what products of aquaforest do you use?

Amazing tank. Are the SPS colonys you buy over there wild or aquacultured?

Hi! I am still using FM Colour elements. Not sure if I wanna switch over to AF yet. Still looking at the effects of their salt. So far my peers in Singapore has been giving good reviews about their salt. From significance drop in nutrients to better corals coloration.

Have you noticed any side effects of using FM?

So far I can't tell much difference in coloration. Gives me the impression that it's similar to my geotechnical abc. I do have some burnt tips for some of my sps, however probably becuz during the same period, I lowered my lights 3" down.
