What are you referring to, the big mess of stuff floating in the water or the green stuff on the glass or... ?

Hi! It's the same macroalgae - that green stuff floating and the the string attached to the glass. You can also see a bit of red algae (don't remember the name at the moment) and some yellow sponge.

The one i would like to identify is the big mess of stuff floating in the water - it's all the the same algae. It started much smaller a few weeks ago. It doesn't look like chaetomorpha.. it looks like it has roots.

Maybe bryopsis?

I think its a family of caulerpa that is not a typical species.
The roots gives that away imo

It does look like caulerpa and I had thought about it but i as I did not find a similar pic to this algae on the web.. i decided to ask for opinions!
