Just been away for Easter only to return to algae in an isolated area of the tank. Not happy but don’t understand why. I’m assuming this is nothing sinister with the bubbles on the end of the algae. Can I just use a brush to clean the rock it am I inviting trouble.

Brush it off then blow it off with a powerhead. Bed dollars to doughnuts you have some nutrient-laden rock right there. Happens to me. That is relatively such a small area I'm not sure I would worry too much. But give the brush & blow a try and see what happens.

I’ve been persevering but no change. I keep brushing. It goes away then comes back. I’ve blocked the natural light out but no change. Sort of at a loss on what to do apart from keep brushing. Interestingly I have it at both ends of the tank. One end is blind so no light coming in. A thought is water flow. Tempted to pint my small jecod at it just to keep flow. Any thoughts?

Looks like cyanobacteria, it will have bubbles on it like that. I think it can be diffrent colors it's a blackish color in my tank I would treat with chemiclean.
