Hi,
I know this probably has been covered several times, but, I think I tried all suggested resolutions.
I have a daily algae outbreak on my substrate. I think it's diatom. (See pics)
My tank is 3 months old. It is a 65g with a 30g sump with fuge and Aqua C 120 skimmer. I change 10-15g per week using Reef Crystals and RODI that consistently measures 0ppm.
I took these readings BEFORE the lights came on:
Amm 0
Trite 0
Trate 2
Phos 0-0.2
Calc 450
Alk 11.5
Mag 1300
ph 8.2
I also checked the phos and trate with my LFS and have the same readings.
I run two Tunze 6045s that produce 1100gph and a Tunze nano wave maker that produces a 2-3 wave at the top of the tank. Return pump is a Quietone 3000.
I should have enough flow.
I have a 4 bulb 36" T5 setup and the bulbs are 3 months old. I run all ATI bulbs. Blue+/Purple+/Aquablue Special/Blue+
My light cycle is 8hrs total. 8 blue/purple and 6 Aquablue/blue+
-I tried a 3 day blackout using a black blanket. It was good until several hours after the lights came on. Problem continues.
-I' running a bag of GFO in a high flow area in my sump. Problem continues.
-I run my skimmer for wetter skim. Problem continues.
-I tried a large 30g WC. Problem continues.
-I re positioned my power heads. Problem continues.
Is 0-0.2 phos enough to cause this?
Is there anything else I can try?
Thanks for reading!
